Update: We are happy solar owners awaiting final NSPI inspection. The quotes were competitive but we chose Watts Up Solar. We had a bad experience with a Huawei string inverter and lost 8 months of production over a couple of complete shutdowns. The newer string inverters are improved but the sales line of "if one microinverter goes down the rest stay up" stuck in the mind. And the IQ controller for battery add on allows sun to power the home during outages, of course depending on the "production" in the period. We have two Bluetti battery generators that would benefit from any sun hours and could add batteries later. But budget was tight so next round for "back up". Enphase with 9.2 KW (20 x 460w Heliene panels) fit our roof. Had hoped for 10.1 kw, but because of other efficiency upgrades and more to come our demand was lower then expected so it challenges me to "tighten up". It should be very close! Watts Up came all the way to Cape Breton so scheduling was understandably a tad chaotic and winter stayed late but seems a common trend as the industry is launching incredibly fast. The install was incredibly fast and no glitches. The system turned "on" first attempt. 2 days. The installer(s) were very knowledgeable and sales were not "pushy" and worked with us if issues popped up and to chat design and tech stuff which I enjoy with my background of Electronic Engineering Technology. Was the right pick for us in chosing Watts Up and in testing everything looks like a big thumbs up. Once budget allows we'll be returning for at least the controller. The CGH loan is what our average monthy bill would be at 0% for 10 years. Solar is incredible investment and monthly billing security. For just under $200/month it covers heat, power and hotwater and in 10 years will be free for the 15 years left on warranty. Only constructive critic, no points deducted...text on route if unplanned. As mentioned the industry is under some pressures as it grows and solar installers are super loaded in this season especially. And being 6 hrs away!
